Irish Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. lamb, cubed
    1 lb. beef, cubed
    1 medium onion, chopped
    2 Tbsp. oil
    8 c. boiling water
    1 large can tomato sauce
    5 medium carrots, halved
    6 medium potatoes, quartered
    1 bay leaf
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    In a large saucepan, brown meat and onion in oil.
    Add boiling water and tomato sauce to meat and simmer 1 hour.
    Add carrots, potatoes, bay leaf, salt and pepper.
    Cook until carrots and potatoes are done.
