Plain Sweet Roll Dough - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. yeast
    1/4 c. warm water
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    3 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Soften yeast in the warm water.
    Combine milk, shortening, sugar and salt; cool to lukewarm.
    Add yeast and egg.
    Gradually stir in flour to form a soft dough.
    Beat vigorously.
    Cover and let rise until double (about 2 hours); turn on floured surface and use in any variation.
    Either shortening or sugar or both increased to 1/4 cup will make a richer dough.
