Sopaipillas - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    enough water to make medium dough
Preparation
    Sift all dry ingredients together.
    Cut in the shortening. Add water and make into dough.
    Let rest for 15 minutes.
    Eggs may be omitted if you so desire.
    Roll out dough about 1/8 to 1/4-inch thick.
    Cut into 3-inch trapezoid shape.
    Fry in grease at 375\u00b0 until golden brown, then turn them over.
    They puff up quite a bit. Serve with honey.
    Makes 24.
