Feather-Light Banana Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening (Crisco)
    6 Tbsp. buttermilk
    3/4 c. bananas, mashed
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/8 c. flour (for nuts)
    2 1/4 c. sugar
    1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
    3/4 tsp. baking powder
    3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 c. nuts (pecans)
Preparation
    Cream shortening and gradually add sugar.
    Add eggs and mix well.
    Add buttermilk to which baking soda has been added, alternately with dry ingredients.
    Add mashed bananas and mix well.
    Dredge nuts with flour and add to the mixture.
    Pour into a prepared loaf pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour or until done.
