Lime Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. cucumbers, sliced to 1/4 in.
    2 c. lime
    4 1/3 lb. sugar
    2 quarts vinegar
    2 Tbsp. salt
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. mixed spices
    2 gallons water, cold
Preparation
    Place cucumbers in 2 gallons water and lime.
    Let set for 24 hours. Drain and rinse off cover.
    Cover with cold water and let stand 3 hours.
    Cover with vinegar and spices and let stand over night.
    Heat cucumbers, vinegar and spices to boiling.
    Simmer for 35 minutes.
    Place in clean jars and seal.
