Real Corn Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. flour
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. sugar
1 c. yellow corn meal
1 egg
1 c. milk
1/4 c. melted bacon drippings or oil
Preparation

Sift together the first 5 ingredients.
Beat egg in bowl.
Add milk and oil.
Pour liquid into dry ingredients all at once, stirring just enough to get all the lumps out.
Pour into a greased 8 x 8-inch pan.
Bake in a 425\u00b0 oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Cut into squares.
