Italian Sausage And Potato Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small onion
    5 large potatoes
    1 small green sweet pepper
    1/2 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    1/4 tsp. dried basil leaves
    2 tsp. salad oil
    6 sweet or hot Italian sausages (about 1 lb.) or kielbasa, cut into 6 pieces
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Thinly slice onion.
    Pare potatoes; slice 1/4 inch thick.
    Layer potato and onion rings in bottom of greased 1 1/2-quart casserole.
    Wash green pepper; cut into rings; arrange on top of casserole.
    Sprinkle with salt, pepper and basil. Pour salad oil and 1/2 cup water over the pepper.
    Arrange sausage on top.
    Cover tightly with foil.
    Bake 1 hour or until potatoes are tender.
    Remove foil; bake 1/2 hour longer, or until sausage is browned.
    Makes 6 servings.
