Cowboy Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. pinto beans, rinsed and drained
    1 (12 oz.) bottle beer
    1 1/2 to 2 lb. lean bacon or 2 or 3 ham hocks
    2 onions
    1 bell pepper, diced
    3 garlic cloves
    1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes, cut up (with juice)
Preparation
    Cook beans until tender.
    Add remaining ingredients and simmer.
    Add salt to taste.
