Hungarian Chicken Paprikas - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 onion, chopped
1 Tbsp. shortening
1 Tbsp. paprika (sweet)
2 Tbsp. salt or less
3 to 4 lb. chicken, cut in serving pieces
1 1/2 c. water
1/2 pt. sour cream
Preparation

Saute onion in shortening until golden.
Add paprika, stirring well to blend.
Do not let the paprika scorch.
Add chicken, salt and pepper to taste.
Add water; mix well.
Cover and let simmer until tender.
Remove chicken; add sour cream to drippings in pan and mix well.
Heat, but do not boil, as this will cause sour cream to curdle.
Return chicken to pan and keep warm.
Serve over noodles, rice or best of all, over tiny dumplings.
