Seven Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, shredded
    1 c. chopped celery
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1 c. chopped red onion
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen green peas, separated
    1 1/2 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 1/2 c. mild Cheddar cheese, grated
    8 strips bacon, sauteed, drained and crumbled
Preparation
    Arrange lettuce in bottom of 13 x 9-inch pan.
    In layers, add other vegetables.
    Do not toss.
    Spread mayonnaise evenly over layers.
    Sprinkle with sugar and cheddar cheese.
    Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours.
    Sprinkle bacon over salad before serving.
