Hot Currant Breakfast Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 c. milk
    1/3 c. currants
    1 Tbsp. sugar and cinnamon
Preparation
    Cream shortening, sugar and unbeaten egg.
    Beat well, then add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk.
    Pour in greased loaf tin.
    Mix currants with cinnamon and sugar and spread over top.
    (Put some currants into loaf, if desired.)
    Bake in moderate oven for 25 minutes, or until done.
