Sauerbraten And Noodles Or Mashed Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. lean chuck (steak or roast)
    1 envelope brown gravy mix
    2 c. water
    1 Tbsp. instant minced onions
    1 Tbsp. brown sugar
    1 Tbsp. oil
    2 Tbsp. wine vinegar
    1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1/4 tsp. ground ginger
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    small can mushrooms (optional)
Preparation
    Brown meat in oil.
    Remove meat from skillet.
    Add gravy mix and water.
    Bring to a boil, stirring.
    Stir in remaining ingredients.
    Add meat and pour into a 1 1/2-quart casserole. Cover and bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
    Remove leaf and serve over noodles or mashed potatoes.
