Punch Bowl Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 yellow cake mix
    2 or 3 cans cherry pie filling
    3 small cans crushed pineapple, drained
    4 or 5 bananas
    3 boxes vanilla instant pudding (4 serving size), prepared according to pkg.
    1 large container Cool Whip
    chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Bake cake according to package directions.
    Cool. Crumble 1/2 of 1 layer cake in bottom of punch bowl; add some pudding, cherries, pineapple, bananas and nuts.
    Crumble other 1/2 of 1 layer and repeat.
    Continue until punch bowl is full.
    Top with Cool Whip and sprinkle with nuts.
    Refrigerate.
