Peach Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    6 large fresh peaches
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 (9-inch) baked pie shell
Preparation
    Mix sugar and cornstarch together.
    Add water and butter; bring to a boil.
    Dice three peaches; add to the syrup.
    Simmer 5 minutes or until thick; cool.
    Slice remaining peaches into pie shell; pour the cooled peach syrup over the sliced peaches in the pie shell.
    Top with Cool Whip.
