Scalloped Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. cooked tomatoes
    1/4 c. chopped celery
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    1/4 c. chopped green pepper
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. sugar
Preparation
    Cook celery, onion and green pepper until tender.
    (Cook in saucepan.)
    Add tomatoes.
    Place in square casserole and cover with 1-inch square buttered bread with crusts removed (bread has been toasted).
    Bake in 400\u00b0 oven until delicately brown.
