Rice Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter
    1 medium onion, diced
    1/4 oz. can mushrooms
    1 c. uncooked rice
    1 can consomme (beef broth)
    1/2 c. water
    salt to taste
    pepper to taste
Preparation
    Note:
    May substitute 2 beef bouillon cubes and 2 cups water for beef consomme and 1/2 cup water.
