Ingredients

1 cup white sugar
2 sticks margarine
2 cups plain flour
1 tsp. baking powder
cinnamon to taste, about 2 scant tsp.
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 egg, separated
2 cups broken pecans
Preparation

Cream sugar and margarine. Add egg yolk and beat well. Add flour, spices and baking powder that have been sifted together. Mix gradually into a stiff dough. Spread with floured hand on a greased cookie sheet to about 1/2 inch thickness. Beat egg white till foamy, spread with spoon over top of dough. Press pecans into dough. Bake at 300\u00b0 until light brown.
