Chicken Fricassee - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 lb. cut up chicken parts or drumsticks
1/4 c. shortening
1/8 tsp. thyme
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 c. water
dash of pepper
10 small white onions or 1/4 c. onion flakes
Preparation

In skillet, brown chicken in shortening seasoned with thyme. Remove chicken
and pat with paper towels.
Rinse skillet.
Stir in soup, water, pepper and onions.
Add chicken.
Cover, leaving slit for steam to escape.
Cook over low heat 45 to 60 minutes to desired tenderness.
Turn chicken and stir gravy occasionally. Add more water if necessary.
Serve over noodles or mashed potatoes.
Serves 4 to 6.
