Latin Beans And Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 slices bacon
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    1/4 c. chopped green pepper
    2 cloves crushed garlic
    1/2 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
    1 can kidney beans
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. oregano leaves
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    1 c. water
    hot cooked rice
Preparation
    In heavy skillet, fry bacon until crisp.
    Add onion and green pepper; saute, stirring, until limp.
    Add garlic.
    Stir in tomato paste.
    Add beans, oregano, salt, pepper and water; heat to boiling.
    Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, stirring now and then, until sauce thickens slightly.
    Serve over rice.
