Ingredients

2 egg whites
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
2/3 c. sugar
chopped nuts (optional) or mini chocolate chips (optional)
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0 while preparing cookie dough.
Beat egg whites until very, very stiff.
Gradually add salt, cream of tartar and sugar.
When egg whites are like satin, fold in nuts or chips. Drop by teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Put cookies in oven and immediately turn oven off; leave cookies in oven overnight.
Do not open oven.
