Sweet And Sour Glazed Onions - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. water (4 c.)
    1 lb. small white onions (about 1-inch in diameter, unpeeled)
    1/3 to 1/2 c. sherry vinegar
    3 Tbsp. olive oil
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    salt and freshly ground pepper
Preparation
    Bring water to boil in large saucepan.
    Add onions and boil 1 minute.
    Remove from heat, drain in colander and rinse with cold water.
    Trim off stem and root ends, then slip off skins.
