Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 qt. whole fresh strawberries
1 1/2 c. water
1 1/2 c. sugar
6 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. salt
lemon juice
red food coloring
9-inch cooked pie shell
Preparation

Boil water and pour over cleaned berries. Let stand 2 minutes; pour off liquid and save. Sprinkle berries with lemon juice and place in refrigerator. Combine liquid, sugar, cornstarch, salt and food coloring. Cook until very thick. Cool. Gently add berries and place in pie shell. Refrigerate. When ready to serve, cover with whipped cream.
