Buttermilk Spice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 c. sugar
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    3/4 tsp. cinnamon
    3/4 tsp. allspice
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 1/3 c. buttermilk
    1/2 c. shortening
    3 eggs
Preparation
    Heat oven
    to
    350\u00b0.
    Grease and flour 9 x 13-inch pan. Measure
    all
    ingredients
    into
    large mixing bowl.
    Blend 1/2 minute on low speed.
    Beat 3 minutes on high speed.
    Pour into pan (or pans).\tMay
    use
    2
    round
    cake
    pans.
    Bake 40 to 45 minutes until
    wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes.
    Cut
    cake
    in
    diamond
    shapes.
    Mix 1/3 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon and sprinkle over cake.
    Heat 1 cup maple flavored syrup and pour over cake.\tLet stand a few minutes. Serve warm or cold.
