Linguine With Clam Sauce - cooking recipe

1/2 stick butter
1/4 c. olive oil
1 onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 cans minced clams, undrained or 2 doz. fresh medium clams with juice
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 tsp. salt
2/3 c. sherry wine
1 c. finely chopped parsley
1 lb. linguine noodles
1 Tbsp. Parmesan cheese
