Cereal Brittle - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. broken nuts (pecans or walnuts)
1 box Quaker Oat Squares (plain)
1/2 c. white corn syrup
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 stick margarine or butter
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Mix cereal and nuts in a 9 x 13 x 2-inch pan.
Bring corn syrup, margarine and brown sugar to a boil and cook for 1 minute. Remove from heat and add baking soda and vanilla.
Pour over cereal and nuts; mix well.
Bake in a 250\u00b0 oven for 1 hour, mixing every 20 minutes.
Place on a cookie sheet and let cool completely.
Break into pieces when cool and store in a tin or plastic bag.
