Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. cucumbers
    4 c. vinegar
    1 c. canning salt
    1/2 c. sugar (optional)
    pickling spice
Preparation
    Wash cucumbers.
    Let stand overnight in cold water.
    Combine vinegar, salt and water.
    Bring to a boil.
    Fill jars and seal.
