Hungarian Goulash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. beef cubes
    1 pkg. onion soup mix
    1/4 c. tomato paste
    2 c. water
    wide egg noodles
    1 Tbsp. shortening
Preparation
    Brown meat in 1 tablespoon shortening.
    Add onion soup mix, tomato paste and water.
    Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours.
    Serve over noodles.
    (Use 6 ounces tomato paste when doubling recipe.)
