Lemon Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. butter or oleo
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. milk
    grated lemon rind
    1/2 c. nuts (optional)
    juice of 1 lemon
    1/3 c. sugar
Preparation
    Mix lemon juice and 1/3 cup sugar while bread bakes to dissolve sugar well.
    Mix butter and sugar; beat in eggs.
    Mix together flour, baking powder and salt.
    Add dry ingredients alternately with milk to the creamed mixture.
    Fold in lemon rind and nuts. Bake in a greased bread tin at 350\u00b0 for 50 minutes.
    As soon as bread is removed from oven, pour lemon juice and sugar over the top of bread.
    Cool thoroughly, about 24 hours, before slicing.
    Bread freezes well.
