Ground Beef Gumbo - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. ground beef
    2/3 c. each, chopped: onion, celery and green pepper
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 (15 oz.) can tomatoes
    1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
    2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
    1 (6 oz.) jar sliced mushrooms
    3 c. frozen okra (cut)
    2 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
    2 bay leaves
    1 1/2 Tbsp. parsley flakes
    1 1/2 tsp. dried basil
    1 tsp. each: oregano, chili powder and onion powder
    1/2 tsp. cumin powder
    salt and pepper
    1/2 c. water
Preparation
    Cook beef, onion, celery, green pepper and garlic in heavy Dutch oven until meat is brown; drain.
    Stir in remaining ingredients.
    Simmer, uncovered, for 1 hour. Remove bay leaves. Serve over hot rice.
    Makes 1 1/2 quarts gumbo.
