Date Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 pkg. dates, cut up
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 1/2 tsp. soda
1 1/2 c. sugar
2/3 c. butter
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. walnuts

Preparation

Pour boiling water over dates and soda.
Set aside to cool. Cream sugar, butter and eggs and add to flour and nuts.
Add cooled date mixture to batter and bake in 13 x 9-inch pan or tube pan for 45 to 50 minutes at 350\u00b0.
