Microwave Pralines - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2/3 c. half and half
1/8 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. butter
1 1/2 c. pecan halves
Preparation

Combine sugar, half and half and salt in a deep 3-quart bowl. Mix well. Stir in butter. Microwave at High for 7 to 9 1/2 minutes or until mixture reaches soft-ball stage (235\u00b0 on candy thermometer), stirring once after 3 minutes of cooking. Stir in pecans. Cool about 1 minute. Beat by hand with wooden spoon until mixture is creamy and begins to thicken, about 3 minutes. Drop by tablespoons onto waxed paper. Let stand until firm. Wrap in Saran Wrap when cool. Makes 2 dozen.
