"Pop-Pop'S" Outstanding Baked Beans - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 (16 oz.) cans Progresso cannellini beans (white kidney beans)
3/4 to 1 lb. bacon slices
2 large onions, peeled and chopped
salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder to taste (depending upon how much bacon you use, you have to adjust the salt seasoning)
Preparation

Place beans in a 3-quart casserole (round, oblong, glass or disposable aluminum, whatever, just as long as it's ovenproof). Cook bacon slices in frying pan until crisp.
Drain on paper towels. Break into nice size bits and pieces.
Discard 1/2 the bacon drippings.
Pour remaining drippings into the casserole. Add the rest of the ingredients.
Stir until blended with a wooden spoon.
Bake, uncovered, 30 to 45 minutes, until it's heated through. If you like a nice crust over the beans, don't stir them. If you like your beans without a crust, stir them once or twice during cooking time.
