Grandmother'S Snickerdoodles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. shortening (1/2 butter, 1/2 Crisco)
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
Preparation

Mix the shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Sift and add the flour, cream of tartar, salt and baking soda. Chill the dough at least 1 hour.
Roll dough into approximately 1-inch balls and roll the balls in a mixture of the 2 tablespoons sugar, cinnamon and cloves. Place balls on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 400\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
