Country Pot Roast With Gravy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 to 5 lb. bottom round beef roast
    1 onion, chopped
    1/2 c. water
    1 Tbsp. vinegar or Worcestershire sauce
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Preparation
    In a Dutch oven or 4 to 5-quart pot with cover, brown the meat very well on all sides.
    (If meat has no fat, use some margarine for browning.)
    Add the chopped onion and cook until onion is soft and translucent, but not brown.
    Add 1/4 cup water and 1 tablespoon vinegar.
    Cover and simmer 3 to 4 hours, until meat is tender and cooked through.
    (Add extra water as needed during cooking.)
