Creole Shrimp Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. frozen jumbo shrimp in the shell, cleaned and deveined
    1 (10 3/4 oz.) can condensed chicken gumbo soup
    1 (8 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
    1 (2 oz.) jar sliced pimento, drained
    3 small onions, cut into fourths
    2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
    1 c. water
    3/4 c. uncooked regular rice
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves
    1 bay leaf
    dash of red pepper sauce
Preparation
    Heat all ingredients to boiling.
    Reduce heat.
    Cover and simmer until shrimp are tender and rice is done, 20 to 25 minutes. Garnish with parsley.
    Yields 8 servings.
