Hash Brown Casserole - cooking recipe

2 lb. (1 bag) hash brown potatoes
10 oz. (1 pkg.) sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
16 oz. (1 large tub) sour cream
1 large bell pepper, chopped
10 oz. (1 can) soup, cream of chicken
1/2 lb. (1 stick) butter, melted
1 large onion, chopped
