California Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. ground beef
    1 chopped onion
    1 minced garlic clove
    1/2 tsp. oregano
    1 tsp. cumin seed
    1 Tbsp. chili powder
    1 (14 1/2 oz.) can cut peeled tomatoes
    1 c. water
    salt
Preparation
    Brown beef, onion and garlic in Dutch oven.
    Add spices, tomatoes and water.
    Bring to boil; reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes to 1 hour.
    (I add kidney beans and some spaghetti.)
    It's optional.
