English Muffin Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 to 6 c. unsifted flour
2 pkg. dry yeast
1 Tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 c. milk (I use regular, but can substitute 2% also)
1/2 c. water
cornmeal
Preparation

In a large bowl, combine 3 cups flour, undissolved dry yeast, sugar, salt and baking soda.
Combine milk and water in a saucepan. Heat over low heat until liquids are very warm (120\u00b0 to 130\u00b0). Gradually add to dry ingredients; beat well.
Stir in remaining flour to make a stiff batter.
Spoon into two 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2-inch or 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf dishes which have been greased and coated with cornmeal.
Sprinkle tops of loaves with additional cornmeal.
Cover; let rise in a warm place, free from drafts, for 45 minutes.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
Remove from pans immediately and cool.
