Divinity Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. white sugar
    1 c. white syrup
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2 egg whites
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. candied cherries
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Combine
    sugar,
    syrup
    and
    water.
    Bring to a rolling boil and
    continue
    boiling to 238\u00b0.
    Let stand for 5 minutes. Beat egg whites and salt until stiff but not dry. Slowly pour syrup
    over egg
    whites
    and
    continue
    beating until mixture becomes dull
    in its
    finish.
    When loses sheen, add vanilla. Add nuts
    and cherries.
    Do
    not
    add nuts and cherries until vanilla is thoroughly mixed.
