Pickled Squash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. small squash
    2 small onions
    1/4 c. salt
    2 c. white vinegar
    2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. turmeric
    2 tsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Slice squash and onions.
    Soak in salt for 2 hours; cover with water and drain well.
    Boil sugar, vinegar and seed.
    Pour over squash and let it stand 2 hours, then boil for 5 minutes.
    Put in jar.
