Ingredients

3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. molasses
1 egg, beaten
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. each: cloves, ginger and salt
Preparation

Melt all ingredients in a saucepan.
Refrigerate for 1/2 hour after mixed.
Roll dough into walnut shape, roll in sugar, place on a cookie sheet and bake for 7 to 10 minutes at 350\u00b0.
