Savory Pinto Beans - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. pinto beans, soaked overnight in water, rinsed and drained
2 c. canned or fresh tomatoes, finely chopped
2 to 3 medium onions, chopped
2 apples, chopped
3/4 c. red wine
1 1/2 to 2 c. grated Monterey Jack cheese
Preparation

Place all ingredients except the cheese in a large pot.
Cover with water.
Bring to a slow boil.
Cook until beans are soft (1 1/2 to 2 hours), replenishing water as needed.
