Dreamy Pineapple Upside-Down Cake - cooking recipe

1 pkg. pineapple cake mix (Duncan Hines)
1/2 c. butter
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 (20 oz.) can pineapple slices, drained
red maraschino cherries, drained and halved
Preparation

Preheat oven to 250\u00b0. Melt butter in a large cast-iron skillet or 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over melted butter. Arrange pineapple slices over brown sugar to almost cover pan. Place cherry halves in pineapple slices and any other desired pattern. Prepare cake mix as directed on package. Pour over fruit. Bake for 43 to 48 minutes or until done. Cool 5 minutes in pan. Invert onto serving plate.
