Candied Yams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 or 5 medium potatoes
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. yellow label syrup
    2 or 3 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Boil potatoes until done, but not soggy.
    Cool and take jacket off.
    Cut in pieces and put in pan or glass dish.
    Cook next 4 items together, until melted well.
    Pour over sweet potatoes.
