Cinnamon Apple Rings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 tart apples (I use Yorks)
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    2 heaping Tbsp. red cinnamon candies
    1 tsp. red food coloring
Preparation
    Make a syrup of the sugar and water; add the red candy and food coloring.
    Core and peel the apples, slicing into 3 to 4 rings each.
    Cook the rings in the syrup until tender.
