Mom'S Spanish Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 pieces (strips) bacon
    1/3 onion
    1 celery stalk
    1/3 green or red pepper
    1 can tomatoes (16 oz.)
    1 c. instant rice
    1/2 tsp. chili powder
    water (total 1 c. including tomato juice)
    shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Fry bacon; drain most of grease.
    Saute onions in bacon grease; throw in peppers (saute peppers short time only) and celery.
    Add can of tomatoes and water; bring to boil.
    Add chili powder first.
    Add rice, cover and let stand 5 minutes.
    Sprinkle with cheese; cover until melted.
