Ingredients

1 stick butter
2 c. brown sugar
6 eggs
2 pkg. chopped figs
1 box raisins
2 c. blackberry jam
2 c. strawberry jam
1 c. buttermilk
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cloves
3 Tbsp. cocoa
1 c. English walnuts
1 c. pecans
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs, beating well.
Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with buttermilk.
Add the jams. Mix fruits and nuts; dredge with flour.
Add to creamed mixture. Pour into 4 greased layer cake pans.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes. Spread Date Filling between layers.
Frost with Caramel Frosting.
