Layered Strawberry-Cracker Dessert - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 small pkg. strawberry jello
    2 c. boiling water
    1 c. cold water
    1 pt. strawberries
    2 Tbsp. sugar (optional)
    3 1/2 c. (8 oz.) Cool Whip, thawed
    18 graham cracker squares
Preparation
    Dissolve jello in boiling water.
    Add cold water; chill until slightly thickened.
    Meanwhile, slice berries, reserving a few whole for garnish.
    Sprinkle berries with sugar.
    Fold in whipped topping into jello, blending well.
    Fold in sliced berries.
    Place 9 graham cracker squares in bottom of 9-inch pan.
    Spread half of jello mix over crackers; repeat layers.
    Chill until firm, about 3 hours.
    Cut into squares.
    Garnish with whole berries and additional whipped cream, if desired.
