Cheese Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small onion, chopped
    2 carrots, sliced thin
    1 large stalk celery, chopped
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 c. chicken broth
    2 c. light cream or evaporated milk
    6 oz. Cheddar cheese, shredded
    salt and pepper to taste
    1/2 pkg. frozen broccoli and cauliflower mixture, cooked until tender (optional)
Preparation
    Melt butter in saucepan.
    Saute onion, celery and carrots until tender, about 5 to 10 minutes.
    Sprinkle flour over vegetables in saucepan and stir well.
    Add optional vegetables here.
