Buttermilk Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 sticks butter
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 Tbsp. white corn syrup
    1 c. nuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Mix in a 6-quart saucepan.
    Cook until soft ball stage on a candy thermometer. Cool until just warm.
    Beat well.
    Add nuts and vanilla. Pour into buttered pan.
    Cut when firm.
